EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
AND APPLICATION

FLORENCE LODGE #281 FOUNDATION APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
(Please read carefully before submitting your application)

1) All applicants who wish to be considered for the Florence Lodge #281 Foundation scholarship will fill out the appropriate application form in full and have ready any supporting documentation they deem appropriate that may better the likelihood of their receiving a scholarship award, and then submit these along with the completed application to the Florence Lodge #281 Foundation by the following dates:

     If applying for the fall semester, your application and any accompanying documents must be
     submitted no later than May 31 of the current year

     If applying for the spring semester, your application and any accompanying documents must 
     be submitted no later than October 31 of the current year

Scholarship award notices for spring and fall semesters will be made no later than June 20 and November 20 of the current year respectfully

2) Applicant must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National or Legal Resident

3) Applicant must be a High School Senior (home schooled, public school or private school), a college student matriculating at a university, community college, trade/vocational school or the like.  The Foundation Board of Directors and/or President reserve the right to exclude any educational, secondary learning or other alternative education institutions at their discrection

4) Applicants for the Florence Lodge #281 Foundation scholarship will have at least a 3.0 GPA at the time of submitting an application for this scholarship and should be ready to produce any supporting documentations as proof if the Foundation Board of Directors and/or President require them

5) Applicants must demonstrate a record of public / community service and should be committed to engaging in activities that benefit their community through volunteering, public service or other activities of any kind with community based organizations...these being (but are not limited to)...religious institutions, athletic teams, community organizations, Masonic Lodges or clubs, etc. (work or employment experience may also be counted as being engaged within the community)

6) Anyone may apply for the Florence Lodge #281 Foundation scholarship; note however, first consideration will be given to Florence Lodge #281 Master Masons in good standing, their sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters, etc.  Second considerations will be to members of other Masonic affiliated organizations, such as...Eastern Star, The Shrine, Scottish Rite...etc.  All other applicants will be considered by their need and merited activities in education and community services

Scholarship Awards Available

The Florence Lodge #281 Foundation will award up to $2500 per spring and fall semesters each year, or $5000 per year total.  The scholarship award given to any one applicant will be based on the number of applications submitted and approved by the Florence Lodge #281 Foundation Board of Directors and/or President.  There is no guarantee that any applicant will be granted a scholorship award once their application and supporting documents have been submitted.  The Florence Lodge #281 Foundation Board of Directors and/or President reserve the right to reject any application for any reason they deem appropriate

If a scholarship is awarded by the Florence Lodge #281 Foundation, the awarded monies will be sent directly to the educational institution of the scholarship recipient
